Over 700 GTI and R owners will gather to showcase their cherished vehicles and share their stories, making it a celebration created for fans, by fans. Prominent figures in the GTI world, including Volkswagen’s Head of Design Andreas Mindt and motorsport legends like Benny Leuchter, Hans-Joachim Stuck, and Jochi Kleint, will be present. They’ll engage with the community, sharing personal GTI anecdotes in expert talks, alongside presenters Sarah Elsser and tuning expert Philipp Kaess. The excitement is palpable, with attendees expected from across the globe.
A Journey Through GTI History
The festival Volkswagen offers a comprehensive look back at nearly 50 years of GTI history. Starting with the first Golf GTI reveal at the IAA in September 1975, the GTI has become an automotive icon. The event will showcase GTI models from all eight Golf generations, alongside GTI variants of the Lupo, Polo, and Up!. Volkswagen will also highlight its electric future with sporty GTX versions of ID. models and the ID. GTI Concept.
Tuning, Performance, and Show Cars
Tuning enthusiasts will find plenty to admire at the festival Volkswagen, with influencer Jean Pierre Kraemer (JP Performance) showcasing his “Thunder Bunny.” Volkswagen will also display unique show cars, iconic Volkswagen Motorsport models, and vehicles meticulously modified by Volkswagen trainees. A car parade featuring approximately 200 GTI and R models will provide a spectacular visual and auditory experience on Sunday afternoon. A mobile performance test bench in the community car park will allow GTI and R drivers to test their vehicles’ capabilities.
