Initially, a company called Curved Glass Creations (CGC) was commissioned to create a mold from an original Bradley GT 2 windshield. The agreement was that the mold would be available for others to have affordable replacement windshields made. Unfortunately, this didn’t materialize, and the mold was reportedly disposed of. A subsequent attempt by CGC to create a new mold using laser measurements from an existing replacement windshield also resulted in ill-fitting windshields. These initial replacements were too large in circumference, ultimately cracking during the installation process.
A New Approach with Bent Glass Design
After the unsuccessful attempts with CGC, the search for a suitable vendor continued. Bent Glass Design, Inc. in Hatboro, PA, a company specializing in curved glass for marine applications, was chosen. Using precise laser measurements of the Bradley GT 2 windshield opening, Bent Glass Design fabricated a steel form for producing a new windshield. The investment in this custom solution proved worthwhile.
Success: A Perfect Fit
The new windshield, made from clear glass with DOT certification, was a perfect fit. The installation process was seamless, and the final result was aesthetically pleasing. Bent Glass Design now owns the mold, but they are open to producing more Bradley GT 2 windshields for other owners.
