Tragedy struck at a Walmart parking lot in Crystal Lake, Illinois, as a car fire claimed the life of a 68-year-old man. Emergency services responded to the scene early Thursday morning, where they discovered a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
The Crystal Lake Police and Fire Rescue Departments were dispatched to the Walmart located at 1205 Route 31 at approximately 5:38 a.m. Responding to reports of a vehicle fire, first responders were met with a harrowing scene: a car ablaze in the parking area. Witnesses at the scene reported that the vehicle was occupied and that brave bystanders had attempted to extract the occupant before emergency services arrived. Unfortunately, their efforts were thwarted by the intense heat and flames.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the car completely consumed by fire on the south side of the Walmart parking lot. After迅速 extinguishing the blaze, authorities located an individual inside the vehicle. Sadly, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

While Mr. Manta’s name is now public, the cause and manner of death have not yet been released as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
